Keeping promises

Well just checking in I promised my Personal Trainer I would do 2 days on my treadmill at home for 30 minutes before I see him again...which is this Saturday sooooo that left today and tomorrow! Well thanks to baby sister I kept my promise and did the 30 minutes while watching the Real Housewives of Atlanta. I am glad I did it.Honestly keeping a promise to my workout routine is important and I know I need to exercise to be successful at my weight loss efforts so I had to post this update b/c I have been trying to do this fir months and couldn't seem to just do it.

Next topic...I am still sore from my first personal training session on Monday! WTH?! Yikes! What will Saturday bring? There's no telling! I am looking forward to it though! Closing thought... :0)

Promises are like crying babies in a theater, they should be carried out at once.

Personal Training 101

Well today was my first personal training session with Charles Harris of Chizel-It fame. It was a W-O-R-K-O-U-T! I have had personal trainers in the past but I always wait until I am frustrated or desperate to go to them. This time I want to be proactive with someone who is a professional. I am worn out! I was really pushed to the limit which is what I need. Here's a good article on 10 Reasons to Hire a Personal Trainer.

Snapshot:

We all need a little help with exercise sometimes, whether we're just starting out or we've been at it for a long time. Still, there are people who shy away from training, unsure of what they'll get out of the experience or whether it's worth the money. Take a look at just a few reasons people typically hire personal trainers and see if it's the right decision for you.
1. You're Not Seeing ResultsIf you've been exercising consistently for several weeks or months and aren't seeing the changes you'd like, hiring a trainer may be a good choice. A trainer can look at your current program and eating habits and help you see where you could make changes to create more effective workouts. A trainer can also help you determine if the goals you've set are realistic for you.

Finding motivation

Well for a few months I have been trying to get motivated to get back to working out on the regular. Well it ain't coming & sooooo I just have to suck it up and get moving again! My issue is consistency so I have 3 good days to kick this off Saturday, Sunday, & Monday. I paid for a personal trainer today! I will be working out with Charles Harris who owes and operates Chizel-It

My first session is Monday! I am looking forward to it. I have had a trainer before and they have always be helpful so no sense in waiting any longer. As for today's workout I did 50 minutes on the treadmill then the 1 hour Soca-robics class WOW! I am beat! But I feel great!

Only 1 Pound

Back from Alaska what a beautiful place. I only worked out 1 day in the gym but I did a lot of walking. My diet was decent a lot of seafood which was good. I weighed in and I am at the same 29 pounds loss as when I left. I am on week 25 (this Friday) so that's about 1 pound a week. In the past I would be upset but I am going to celebrate this 29 pounds b/c I remembered this poem!

If I ONLY Lost Just One Pound Each Week in 2009

By Valentine’s Day I’d be 6 pounds lighter!I’m telling you – I’m loving it!

By St. Patrick’s Day I’d be 11 pounds lighter! With the luck-o-the Irish I’ll make my goal!

By Easter I’d be 12 pounds lighter!I’d be a cuter bunny!

By Memorial Day I’d be 21 pounds lighter!Won’t let it rain on my parade!

By Flag Day I’d be 23 pounds lighter!Boy, could I wave my flag then!

By Independence Day I’d be 26 pounds lighter! That’s a neat declaration of independence from overeating!

By Labor Day I’d be 35 pounds lighter! What a wonderful reward for all my hard work!

By Columbus Day I’d be 41 pounds lighter! What a joy to discover what I can do!

By Halloween I’d be 43 pounds lighter!I didn’t think I’d have had a ghost of a chance!

By Thanksgiving I’d be 47 pounds lighter!I’d have so much to be thankful for!

By Christmas Eve I’d be 51 pounds lighter!

Talk about being merry!

By New Year’s Eve I’d be 52 pounds lighter! It’s not just a new year, it’s a NEW ME!!

My old Weight Watchers leader shared this with our class when some of us were upset that we ONLY lost 1 pound... 1 pound may not seem like a lot but in 1 year thats 52 pounds gone! For some of us that would surpass our weight loss goal so be encouraged 1 pound a week is a GREAT thing!

Exercising While on Vacay

Exercising While on Vacation can be hard but that's a mindset! I typically pack workout clothing and workout when I travel. I am on a working vacation and my goal is to stay active. I am at 29 pounds lost from Jan 31st, 2009. My goal is to hit 40 ponds by Aug. 1st. I know if I was working out regularly I'd be there by now so I need to keep up with this blog to encourage me to keep on the right track. Today I slept pretty late b/c of the flight but I walked for hours sightseeing and checking out the city of Anchorage. I did a lot of walking and enjoyed that. I plan to workout while away below is my plan!

Monday-walking in airport

Tuesday- walking around town

Wed- hotel gym 30 minutes cardio

Thursday-hotel gym 30 mins cardio

Friday-AKA workout

Saturday-AKA workout

Sunday-hotel gym 30 mins cardio

The Buddy System

Well the workout buddy system is something that realllllly works for me. My best workout routine occurred when I had a workout buddy who was going had like I was. My sister is here for a few more weeks and have been very encouraging. Well Thursday we went back to Soca'robics I really enjoy that class! The key is finding a Compatible Workout Buddy

There is an important component of the buddy system; accountability. If you are working out with someone you don't want to let them down so you tend to show up rather than pass on a workout. I need a new workout buddy!

WEEK 2

~Wed-July 8th-n/a

~Thurs-July 9th- Soca-robics

~Friday-July 10th-N/a

~Sat-July 11th-Sca-robics

~Sun-July 12th-Spin

~Mon-July 13th-Spin
-travel to Alaska

~Tues-July 14th -TBA

Next week working out while traveling will be a test to maintain my motivation.

ENERGY!!!!???!!???

I got home yesterday and I was B-E-A-T! I had a busy day at work but aside from that I was just tired. I know I need to may close attention to my vitamin intake and especially my iron and I have not but God-bless her my sister tried to encourage me to go to a 7:30pm step class but I was just too tired I went right in the bed for about 1 hour then had dinner. I was really tired. Again I know I am behind on my vitamins and I will start again today but I had a 6 pack of
5 hour Energy so we will see.
Ok to the workout~ This morning I could NOT get out the bed it was holding me hostage! I eventually got out and got to work. Tonight I am feeling like I need to do something so there is a 6:30 Spinning so that's my goal! I'll check back in.
